Gather Learn Cultivate (GLC) is developing a focused portfolio of trauma-informed programs designed to respond to four deeply connected community challenges: incarceration, mental health needs, substance use, and gun violence. The organization’s model is built around timely intervention, community-based support, and coordinated care delivered by licensed clinicians, certified professionals, and trained staff who can meet individuals where they are and help move them toward healing, stability, and safety.



OUR PURPOSE





GLC exists to close service gaps for individuals and families who are often underserved at the moments they need help most, including during incarceration, immediately after release, in the aftermath of violence, and when untreated behavioral health needs begin to disrupt daily life. The purpose of this program portfolio is to create practical, specialized responses for each area of need while strengthening the overall continuum of care in the community.



Meet Our Founder



Dr. Twannie Gray, LMSW-C, CAADC





Dr. Gray was born, raised, and shaped in Saginaw, Michigan—a city he has never abandoned and never stopped fighting for. A proud product of Saginaw Public Schools and a member of the Trojan Class of 1990, his roots run deep in this community. He is happily married to the beautiful Mrs. Georgette Gray, devoted father to their four beloved children—Jaquiese, Jacob, Jackson, and Gia.

When an officer called out “#240171, 4th gallery, cell 71,” Twannie Gray was a young man staring down a 4-to-20-year prison sentence. What happened next is the kind of story that changes everything you thought you knew about potential. He completed three degrees in three years and seven months. He founded his own clinic, and two decades later brought Gather, Learn and Cultivate Inc. to life.

Dr. Twannie L. Gray is not a man defined by where he started. He is defined by what he chose to do with where he started—and by his relentless refusal to let anyone in Saginaw believe their story is finished.

THE BEGINNING





Gather, Learn and Cultivate, Inc. (GLC) was incorporated in September 2024 and established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a vision of creating stronger, healthier communities through healing, support, and opportunity.


For Dr. Gray, this work is personal. Having grown up in the community he now serves, he witnessed firsthand the impact that trauma, substance use, violence, and incarceration can have on individuals, families, and entire neighborhoods. He also saw the resilience, strength, and untapped potential that existed within those same communities.


Driven by a desire to create meaningful change, Dr. Gray began exploring ways to address the root causes of these challenges rather than simply responding to their consequences. Alongside his wife, who shared his passion for helping others and strengthening the community they call home, he laid the foundation for what would become Gather, Learn and Cultivate.


Together, they envisioned an organization that would do more than provide services. They wanted to create a place where people felt seen, heard, and supported—a place where healing could begin and lasting change could take root. What started as a shared vision soon became a reality.


Today, GLC continues to expand that vision through innovative behavioral health, crisis intervention, and reentry programs designed to help individuals and families overcome barriers, build resilience, and thrive. At its heart, GLC is a reflection of the community that inspired it and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and cultivate a brighter future.
